Call For Papers

Types of Presentations:
Research Podium Lecture:  Original reports or reviews of basic, applied or translational research.   Research encompasses experimental work in which data was collected in accordance with scientific standards and accepted scientific practices.  If the research involved the use of a commercial product, features of the product may be described only to the extent necessary for informing the audience regarding the methodology of the scientific work and not for describing the features of a commercial product for marketing or distribution purposes.

Experiential Podium Lecture:  Original field reports utilizing structured program and data presentation will be considered depending upon the relevance to the goals of the conference.   This type of presentation would include innovative noise-induced hearing loss intervention programs targeting youth and young workers or similar health & safety programs whose general characteristics would be applicable to NIHL.   School programs, vocational education programs and other prevention efforts would be considered appropriate for this submission category.

Panel and Audience Discussion:  Topics which would have diverse viewpoints and are considered exploratory or controversial are appropriate for this type of submission e.g. a panel discussion regarding the role of schools in hearing loss prevention efforts for teens or how to identify and target youth engaged in unsanctioned work activities (e.g. operating power tools under age).  Submissions are encouraged to indicate the strategies for audience participation and discussion.

Roundtable:  Small group discussions hosted by roundtable facilitators designed to provide an opportunity for attendees to interact with each other and explore topic areas of mutual interest.   Roundtables that encourage participation from attendees with diverse backgrounds are encouraged in order to enhance the exchange of information and networking opportunities for the conference attendees.

Hands-on Workshop:  Presentations would incorporate hands-on practical learning opportunities for the attendees with a specific application to prevention of noise-induced hearing loss in children.   Please specify the size of the group that the workshop can accommodate at one time.

Poster & Interactive Displays:   Posters may be used for the presentation of research activities or program efforts relative to the focus of the conference.  Interactive displays of products, materials and activities can be presented.
