Laura Kauth, CCC-A, MA
Iowa City, IA
Laura Kauth earned bachelor's degrees in English, psychology, and biology at the University of Iowa in 1994. She went on to complete her M.A. in audiology in 2000. After ten years of combining clinical and occupational audiology, Laura decided to leave clinical practice to better pursue her professional interests in hearing loss prevention. Laura is currently licensed to practice audiology in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, and maintains the Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is certified as a professional supervisor and course director through the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC ). Laura has been an active member in NHCA since 2000, serving on the Executive Council since the point at which she noticed they had food. Past roles have included Legislative Task Force Chair, Director of Communications, and Semi-Official Conference Volunteer Wrangler*. In her free time, Laura has an appalling tendency to engage in "guerilla audiology", randomly testing noisy environments shopping malls, and accosting hapless strangers with earplugs and education.
