Call for Nominations for 2016 NHCA Officers
The NHCA Nominations Task Force is actively pursuing a slate of candidates for Executive Council 2016-2017 terms.
NHCA members have an opportunity to provide nominations (including self-nominations) for elected offices by submitting candidate names. The five positions that will be elected this year are:
President Elect: This position is a three-year commitment (year one as President-Elect, year two as President and year three as Past President). Nominees are required to have previous experience on the NHCA Executive Council.
Director of Education: This is a two-year commitment and a voting position on the Executive Council. The Director of Education oversees the annual conference, seminars, and other educational programs of NHCA; appoints a liaison between NHCA and related university academic programs; and is responsible for all educational material generated by NHCA.
Director of Membership: This is a two-year commitment and a voting position on the Executive Council. The Director of Membership heads the Member Services Council. This position coordinates membership recruitment, retention, and new member orientation.
Director of Marketing and Public Relations: This is a two-year commitment and a voting position on the Executive Council. The Director of Marketing and Public Relations is responsible for increasing the visibility and recognition of NHCA among NHCA members, Related Professional Organizations (RPOs), hearing conservation practitioners, and the public, and for publicizing and promoting issues of Spectrum, NHCA-developed materials and concepts, and events sponsored or co-sponsored by NHCA.
Member Delegate: This is a two-year commitment and a voting position on the Executive Council. The Member Delegate is elected from the Individual Member constituency. The Member Delegate represents the interests of the Individual Members and participates in Executive Council deliberations as a voting member. The Member delegate position is part of the Membership Services Council, led by the Director of Membership.
All elected members of the Executive Council are expected to attend three face-to-face meetings annually. Important budget discussions and deliberations are typically held during the summer meeting. Meetings are also scheduled prior to and following the annual conference at the conference site. Additional Council activity is routinely managed via conference calls and e-mail communications.
