Alyssa Pursley

Alyssa Pursley is pursuing her Doctorate of Audiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and will complete her studies in May of 2016. Alyssa has a passion for hearing conservation and pediatric audiology. She will be finishing her fourth year externship at St. Louis Children's Hospital and will join the pediatric team as an audiologist following graduation. She has served as Vice President of Washington University’s Student Academy of Audiology and has worked part-time as a certified hearing conservationist. She completed an NIH T-35 Research Traineeship at the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research in Portland, Oregon and her manuscript was recently published in the International Journal of Audiology. Her ambition to pursue a clinical and research career within differing areas of audiology presents a unique outlook for her future as an audiologist, but incorporating the two into her career and being successful in both areas is an ultimate goal she intends to achieve by becoming a passionate clinician, proactive scientist, and influential leader.
