Engineering Noise Control Webpage + Internoise 2014

In association with I-INCE, the Australian Acoustical Society invites you to attend Inter.noise 2014, the premier international conference on noise and vibration control in 2014. This will be an excellent opportunity for you and your organization to gain valuable exposure to and within the noise and vibration control fraternity.

A 200 word abstract may now be submitted through our website,, where you can select from a list of potential session topics which span all aspects of noise and vibration control.  In particular I draw your attention to the topics BUY QUIET and  WORKPLACE NOISE AND VIBRATION. The latter will be organized through several sessions:

 - Practical engineering and administrative  controls (Successful case studies on noise or vibration control; cost/benefit analyses;  databases of controls; role of assessment)

 - Health and safely aspects (Health and safety effects of workplace noise, vibration and ototoxic substances;  databases of exposures; health monitoring of noise/vibration exposed workers; legislation, policy and training)

 - Advances in personal protection (Design of hearing protectors; fit-check techniques; efficacy of vibration-reducing gloves; assessment techniques).


 These sessions will be co-ordinated by Pam Gunn and Warwick Williams from Australia and Jean Tourret, President INCE/Europe.


Over 120 world authorities have agreed to assist organize and chair the sessions, ensuring that the technical program will be both varied and of a high standard.

In addition to the technical sessions, there will be an extensive exhibition of equipment and materials related to noise and vibration control. As part of the registration, morning and afternoon refreshments and a light lunch will be provided in the exhibition area.

The website,  allows you to submit your abstract and paper, register for the Congress and provides a template for your paper.  Full details of the Congress, including the program, will continuously be updated.

Abstracts must be submitted by May 10 and papers are due July 25, 2014.
